A Commodore64,128  game

V1.0.1:

  • Added C128 turbo mode support, speed will be doubled on C128! -> much smoother gameplay
  • Better deletion handling for eliminated orbz

Welcome to the Orbix solar system! Your mission is simple: eliminate all the orange Orbz by launching a ball from the top to clear each level. But it's not just about accuracy-plan your shots carefully, use puzzle-solving skills, or rely on a bit of luck to conquer the game.

Watch out for special elements like:

  • Tray: Save balls by targeting the tray.
  • Cannons: Catch the balls and fire them in your wanted direction.
  • Portals: Teleport your ball to different parts of the screen.
  • Lasers: Dangerous, do not touch them or deactivate them.
  • Switches: Unlock hidden areas or activate special mechanics.
  • Bombs: Cause explosive chain reactions to clear obstacles.
  • Gravity swaps: Change the direction of gravity to add a twist to your shots.
  • Extra balls: Need some more power, unlock other balls.
  • Bumbers: Boost your ball.

Plan ahead, aim wisely, and overcome every challenge to rack up as many points as you can! But be careful-the number of balls is limited. Run out, and its game over.

Scoring system:

The more Orbz eliminated the multiplier rises which multiplies the points.

  • Orange orbz: 100 points.
  • Blue orbz: 10 points.
  • Bonus orbz: 500 points.
  • All clear Bonus orbz: 500 points.
  • Round score: If the ball is gone you get points for hit orbz.
  • Level score: When the level is completed, you get points for remaining balls.

Cool game - C128 version!

Cool game - definitively worth a few bucks. Especially since the C128 version is out!

Added support for C128 turbo mode... means much smoother gameplay

Finished my longplay today. I discovered a tiny bug in level 17. At 47:40, the ball should actually be caught, but it didn't. Great game! I really enjoyed it. Please don't be surprised that I saved so many balls. It's all because of the save states. ;)

Great game, like pinball and breakout together. I also included it in my new "Gameplay of New C64 Games from October 2024" video, in addition to the other C64 games released in October.

So... Only works on EasyFlash?

I get blackscreen on my real C64 + U1541-2...

it is easyflash only, but was tested with Ultima II a disk version is not possible due to the software design.

I hope other Ultimate 1541-II+ could try and load this game. When I try on my PAL machine all I get is a black screen.

The community fixed version for Ultimate64 can be downloaded on this page... this is untested but reported to work.

Niiice game! :)

Good job! https://c64universe.wordpress.com/2024/10/27/orbix-2024-fleischgemuese/

Cool game, thank you.

Amazing!! I have not seen such a game for the C64 before. Obviously it's quite taxing for the cpu to do all the calculations, but the game is surprisingly playable. I would love to see a C128 optimized or SCPU compatible version of this one. Great work!

C128 optimized version is available!

Hats off to you, Sir! the C128 version plays great, big improvement

Awesome game. Nice original take on pinball/plinko machines. Cool music and sounds. It will take a while for me to get used to this game, but I love it. Well done.

Edit: I just tried running this game on the Ultimate64, but it seems that the game is not compatible with it. So I'll have to stick to VICE / theC64 for now until this problem can be solved. It is still a great game. :)
